Mowing the Grass

Keedan enjoys pushing around his lawn mower (Both inside & outside of the house)

The good thing about the inside of the house is that there are no stinking ANTS...or at least I hope not.

Hometown Visit

Keedan and I traveled to Dayton TX to have lunch and quality time with Grandma Pardon (my mother)and my Grammy.

Keedan & his Meme

Grammy

We met for lunch at the Texas Kountry Kitchen and had some truely Southern Food (which I absolutely love but cannot eat on a regular basis)

Texas Toothpicks....these are sliced onions and jalepenos battered and deep fried with ranch dipping sauce....they are sooooooooooooooo good!

My colassal steak finger basket. It was a truly enormous platter and oh so yummy. This picture does it no justice.

After lunch we checked out Babs a local resale shop and later just visited at my Grammy's house whilst Keedan played in the grass with sticks and bugs.

Sunnyside Celebrates the Relief Society

We celebrated the Relief Society's Birthday @ our Branch a little over a week ago by having a potluck dinner, a special birthday cake (yes the one at the very top of this page made by Mrs. Texas Adams...Cake Maker Extrordinaire) and socializing with the sisters of our branch.

Below is a collage of attendees. This is not everyone that attended...this was before we started and I actually forgot to take more pics of everyone. We had a wonderful turnout...which is quite rare for our small little branch.

It turned out wonderful and we all had an enjoyable time (or at least I hope so)

Happy St. Patty's Day

Irish Eyes

by Chaucey Olcott and George Graff, Jr.

When Irish eyes are smiling,
Tis like a morn in spring.
With a lilt of Irish laughter
You can hear the angels sing
When Irish hearts are happy
All the world is bright and gay
When Irish eyes are smiling
Sure, they steal your heart away.

Keedan & Daddy

I absolutely HEART these pictures and wanted to share them.

As you can see, Keedan is the remote control King. It was really funny this night b/c he was actually changing the channel.

He also just has to have what ever we have.

Ryan likes to just throw Keedan in the washer to clean him b/c it' much faster that way.

Keedan doesn't seem to be bothered by it at all.
He just goes with the flow.

HLSR

Ryan and I attended the Houston Live Stock Show & Rodeo this past Thursday for our "Date Night".

It was so much fun!

Before we got there, we ate at Stetson's (a local restaurant) where our server was so very nice.

He held our leftovers for us while we attended the Rodeo so that our food would not spoil in the truck.

These are the competitions we were able to watch:
1.) Saddle Bronc Riding
2.) Steer Wrestling
3.) Bull Riding
4.) Barrel Racing
5.) Calf Scramble
6.) Mutton Bustin

We were very impressed overall with the various competitions at the rodeo.

My favorite was the "Mutton Buston". This is a competition for ages 4 - 6 where they ride bareback ontop of a sheep. It is one of the cutest funniest events I've ever witnessed.

I've posted a video reel on the leftside of our blog.... so scroll down to watch some cute "Mutton Bustin" in action.

After the rodeo, we watched Clay Walker perform. The music was a bit too loud but his voice was really good and clear live.

We had a great time together and are grateful for the fun moments we've been able to have before Ryan's departure.

K's First Birthday

Today, Keedan is officially a One Year old.

We had a Dinosaur party for him yesterday.

The plan was to have the party at a park, but when we got to the park the wind was furious. I believe that it was close to 30 mph. Crazy...I know.

We moved the Dyno-party to our house. Yes, I was dissapointed but Keedan wasn't phased at all, neither were his friends.

Getting to our house was a bit chaotic at first but turned into quite a fun time.

Keedan ate his first cupcake, blew out his first candle (with help from his friends Charles and Alex)

and scored on plenty of toys to keep him occupied for hours, maybe even days at a time.

(Me opening Keedan's presents b/c he was too interested in everything else)

We are very grateful to have been able to celebrate Keedan's birth with our friends and family.

It's amazing how fast a year goes by.

Keedan has come quite a long way and we are especially grateful to the lord for the many wonderful blessings he has bestowed upon our family.

Keedan @ 11 Months

Keedan enjoys getting into things.

Here he got into a container of Puffs and dumped them all over the floor. I love that they were stuck to his sock.

In this photo he has found a tube of my lipstick.

Good thing I snatched it away before he tried to mark the wall with it.

Almost every day he makes his way to where the dvd's are located and pulls them all out onto the floor.

Lastly he loves playing the "I'm gonna get ya" game.
His little giggle is so cute and contagious.
