Mowing Dry Land

Keedan doesn't have much grass to mow here, so the dirt and rocks will have to do.

Spaghetti Dinner & Cake Auction

This past Friday our ward had a spaghetti dinner & cake auction.
The proceeds were to benefit the young men & women. It was very good food and all HOMEMADE...except for the bread.

There were some pretty awesome cakes. Here are just a few.

I made a triple chocolate fudge cake that was designated as the "Holiest" cake (b/c of the gap inbetween the two layers).

It went for $25 bucks at the auction...I thought that was pretty sweet.

I'll have to make another one for my own consumption.

We all had a good time & Keedan especially had a wonderful time eating!

As you can see, he mostly enjoyed the garlic bread.

Greetings from the State of Enchantment

We have been here for a little over two weeks now and have finally begun to get settled in a bit. When we arrived we lived on base in a hotel for about 11 days and now are living quite large in an RV.

I've always wanted to try living in an RV and I do have to say that while the quarters are small (especially the restroom) it is indeedy a lot of fun and it's teaching me how to organize better and to consolidate.

We have some neighbors that have four kids and two dogs all living together in an RV. I'm not sure it would be much fun with that many people, but it works for them.

The weather has been an adjustment for us. It is DRY DRY DRY here. I have always lived with humidity, so this has been a major adjustment for me.

It's usually super cold in the morning and at night. The daytime is fairly warm. The wind seems to never let up. I've been told that April and May are probably the windiest months.

As you can see in the picture below, my hair is all over the place.

The people here in the city of Clovis are very nice and highly support the military.

I'm just really glad that normal citizens here recognize the importance and have respect for the people that are defending our country.

We adore all the people in our new Ward!
Keedan has plenty of room to rummage and has already made several friends.
We try to sit in the back so that Keedan has some room to play.

Keedan is adjusting quite well to the many changes we have encountered. He loves to be outside and loves even more to get dirty.

When we were taking these pics on base, there was quite a bit of bird poop along the sidewalk. Keedan was walking along and when he spotted some he would point to it or barely touch it and Ryan would say.."NO Keedan KCakCA".

Moments later, Keedan was ahead of us and fell down on the concrete. He began pointing at the white bird poop and then......Dun dun dun dun....he put his finger in his mouth.

I ran to him saying no Keedan NO....and of course he thought it was funny so he kept dipping his finger in the bird poop and then sticking his finger in his mouth.

Oh the JOYS of a little BOY :)
