Happy Father's Day!

Keedan and I had a wonderful time with Ryan this weekend as we celebrated Father's Day!

Ryan and I started the celebration with a "Date Night" on Saturday at Leal's (a mexican restaurant here in Clovis).

We split a dinner and had the biggest sophapilla's I had ever seen, for dessert. It was sooooo delicious!

We later went to pick Keedan up from the Sammon's home and found that Keedan didn't want to come home.

He had way too much fun by the pool.

Sunday morning we gave Ryan his father's day gifts and it looks like he enjoyed them just a little bit.

Keedan is so very happy that Ryan is his dad, I know b/c he told me :)

We hope you enjoyed your day and that you have fun with your new toy :)

Pretty Cool Happenings

I recently got my haircut for the first time while here in Clovis, NM. I got a cut on Monday and then went back on Tuesday for highlights. The person who cut my hair was Lisa May, a very creative hairdresser that specializes in long hair. I forgot the name of the salon that she works at but I do know that it is off of Commerce on the left hand side in a small shopping center.

Okay boring so far I know.....on with my story. Turns out Lisa is creating her own product line of eco-friendly hair care. As we were talking (which is so easily done while getting a haircut), she asked if I might know of anyone that might be able to help with creating a biography for her to be able to present to her tentative business partners.

I thought about it and gladly said, "I can help you with that". She gladly accepted my proposal and for my help she gave me Redken shampoo, conditioner and treatment for my freshly highlighted hair. How awesome is that?

It makes me happy that she felt I was trustworthy enough to help her when she had only just met me. I have already finished her biography and hope that it will be sufficient for her business venture. If all goes well, I'll keep you updated on the status of her product line and where you will be able to purchase it, if your interested.

Paddy Cake, Paddy Cake Baker's Wo-man

For the month of May I signed up for a cake decorating class @ Hobby Lobby. It was once a week on Tuesday nights for two hours.

I made it a point to enjoy my "me" time because Keedan would spend time with daddy on my class nights. And, I did enjoy it very much!

I have always wanted to take a class to learn how to decorate cakes. My good friend Texas (who also lives in Texas) makes FABULOUS cakes and since she is nowhere near to make them for me, it's high time I learned for myself :)

Week One the instructor did an overview of the Wilton Method and taught us how to make the decorating icing.

Week Two I made & decorated the following cake. I am so thankful that Ryan took it to work so that his co-workers could devour most of it.

While making the icing, I actually burned out the motor to the hand mixer.....no worries, all was still good with the icing.

Week Three I made cupcakes and had fun decorating them various ways.

The Fourth week I was missing in action from my class b/c I had to make a trip to Houston. Therefore, I still have a cake to make.

My final cake will be posted at a later time, once I

1. Buy a new hand mixer;

&

2. Find the time to make it.

Stay tuned.....

Keedan likes...

Brushing his teeth....he will keep this up for a really long time until he is ready to go to sleep at night.

Playing in water ....as you can see in the previous post.

Playing with dogs...while in Houston we stayed a few days with our friends Laura & Brian. Keedan had the best time chasing their dog Jack-jack around the house.

Playing with dog kennels....yes...strange child I know.

When we understand what he is pointing to or trying to say.

Staying up as long as he can...he's a sleep fighter.

Not being confined in a car seat.

More "Likes" to be posted later.

Memorial Day

Keedan and I traveled to Houston Tx this past week to take care of some business.

We were able to take a break on Memorial Day to spend time at the Kemah Boardwalk and relax with family.

Keedan had a blast at the spray pad.

All you Texas A&M fans please be not offended by the UT hat Keedan is sporting.

Keedan needed a hat to be shielded from the Sun's harmful rays......this was the only one available at the time....yeah I hear ya already you AGGIES..."Excuses Excuses".

We took the train around the park and then headed to lunch at Joe's Crab Shack.

After lunch we went back to the spray pad where Keedan loved the water and dancing to the live band playing Hard Rock music.

I had so much fun watching Keedan have a good time.

We ended up finding another hat for Keedan. Unfortuneately, he didn't like wearing it as much as playing with it.

At the end of the day Keedan was kapoot.
