Baby Sheek!

Yay, a Mommy & Kenna picture.

So, for those of you that know me, know that I am ooberly excited to make things with my sewing machine. Last night, I needed a creative outlet and ended up making MaKenna a simple little skirt, a decorative onesie and a super cute hair clip.

Voila!

I have searched around different creative sites to get inspiration. The fabric I used is an old one of Henry Alexander that I picked up at a quilt shop in Roswell. Wish I had gotten more of this fabric...it's super cute!

Close up of the skirt.

Looking Sheek at playtime.

I must say that venturing into making clothing is very intimidating. I'm happy that I accomplished it and now I'm going to try to accomplish making a full dress by using a pattern.

Looking Sheek and Happy in her carseat.

Yikes, we'll see how that goes. I did get some really really cute Amy Butler fabric that I'm excited to use...so Good Luck to me ;) If all goes well, I think I'll join the world of Etsy (as in - I'll try to sale my handmade goodies).

MaKenna @ 4 Months

Miss MaKenna is definitely our sunshine. She is so sweet natured and beautiful. We love her sooo much.

When Keedan goes up to her she gets the biggest smile on her face.

When she sits in her little chair in the living room, Keedan will play with his toys right next to her and he thinks that b/c she's beside him that she's playing with him.

Aren't they just so cute?!! It's nice to have Keedan in a mindset that he is loving on baby siser instead of not liking her.

Happy Birthday Keedan

Wow, it's already March and Keedan is now a three year old. Time sure has been flying by. I had a party for Keedan this past Saturday. It was fun but I was bummed that it was chilly outside and of all places I had his party at a park. Thankfully, his friends still came and celebrated with us.

His party was dino themed. Yea, just like his first birthday party. I wanted to have a barnyard birthday party for him but he said he wanted "saur saurs' so thats what we did. He's a kid that knows what he wants.

I didn't take the best pictures, but here are a few of the party. The kids above are attempting to play the Dino-stomp game/relay.

How cute is he? This is Nick, he got a bit off course. It's easy to do when you can't see b/c of the big dino hat on your head.

Keedan looked so cute but saw me with the camera and started taking off his dino hat.

I had the best time making Keedan's cake. I didn't spend as much time on it as I had wanted but it turned out alright for the amount of time spent on it.

I baked two 9x13 cake sheets and then sculpted the dino out of them.

It was fairly easy just looked really messed up "literally" until the icing was on to cover up all of the blemishes.

I didn't add any details to the dino except for the eyeball b/c I had run out of frosting the night before and I didn't have time to make it fabulous. It worked out great though and I was definitely less stressed.

Lastly I did get the last half of us singing Happy B-day to Keedan. I remembered the candles but forgot to grab the matches. Whoopsie...as Keedan would say, but he still seemed to enjoy it.
